| about Uptown Artworks
It is important to our mission to be able to provide affordable space for artists and artisans who are interested in being part of a collaborative, creative environment that will help make it possible for them to further their work and careers. Studios vary in size and artists are expected to use their studios for the purpose of producing art. Generally accepted studio media are fine arts: painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking and mixed media. The studios are based on an open concept of which and during gallery hours, the public is invited to tour the gallery and studios, meet with artists and purchase artwork. Uptown Artworks is exclusively located in Uptown Greensboro, and provides an opportunity for the community to get a behind-the-scenes look at working artists' spaces, learn more about an artist's specific tools and techniques, watch a demonstration or simply talk with an artist about his or her work. We invite you to visit, see something new, and by all means... have fun!

All you need is a love and appreciation of fine art, a desire to collect, and a willingness to familiarize yourself with a few simple techniques that will allow you to evaluate any work of art dating from any time period by any artist of any nationality [1], but more importantly... a sense of like/love for a work that you desire to own. It's really just that simple!" Our gallery is a host to both our working studio artist and those artist outside of our studio that we have choosen to showcase.
